2026 Campaign Video

Officially announcing my campaign for re-election to Pitt Meadows City Council in the 2026 municipal election.

My 2026 Platform

Public Safety

I fought for the transition to 24 hours career fire staffing because families deserve to know help will be there when they need it.

We know these changes have already saved lives and property. Our community is safer today than it was four years ago.

But there is still more work to be done to make sure we are protected when emergencies happen.

Active Transportation

I've advocated to make Pitt Meadows safer and more connected for everyone. From the early phases of Harris Road Complete Street, to the upcoming improvements at Blakely and Hammond intersection, we're building a city where people have more ways to get around safely.

Now I want to focus on projects that help get kids to school safely, because every child deserves to walk or ride to school comfortably.

Local Economic Development

Pitt Meadows is made up up small businesses and these businesses are facing enormous pressure from escalating operating expenses and rising lease costs that make it harder to stay local.

That's why I encouraged tourism initiatives like our partnership with Scenic Route 7 and the upcoming return of the Pitt Meadows Blueberry Festival to bring tourism dollars into our city.

Because a strong local businesses build a strong local economy.

Affordability and Livability

I believe we need to be careful with how we spend your tax dollars by prioritizing projects and services that matter most, while planning responsibly for the financial future of the city.

But affordability balances with livability. It's about maintaining the sense of community, connection and quality of life that makes Pitt Meadows such a special place to live.

Protecting Farmland

I have been a strong advocate for protecting farmland and advancing food security in our province.

I brought forward resolutions through LMLGA and UBCM that were ultimately discussed by the Premier's Task Force on Agriculture because food security matters to all of us.

With cuts to the Agricultural Land Commission, it's more important than ever that local governments be the first line of defence in protecting farmland.

My Values

Fiscal Responsibility

Fiscal Responsibility

Fiscal Responsibility

Alison in council chambers during budget deliberations.

Every dollar spent needs to have real value to our community.

We need to balance the needs of infrastructure, services and programs that improve quality of life, while avoiding waste.

Whether encouraging grant funding, minimizing expenses, looking for efficiencies or seeking cost-sharing agreements, good financial stewardship builds trust and must be used for every decision made.

Smart budgeting today protects the services and programs residents depend on.

Economic Vitality

Fiscal Responsibility

Fiscal Responsibility

Alison at the Tourism BC conference.

A thriving local economy is essential for a strong community.

Economic vitality means supporting our local businesses, promoting policies and programs that help small businesses grow and succeed, encouraging businesses that provide meaningful employment opportunities close to home. and creating opportunities for residents to live and work in our city.

Economic growth should enhance our community, not change its character.

Public Safety

Fiscal Responsibility

Transparency & Accountability

Alison with others at the grand opening of the new firehall in Pitt Meadows.

Public safety is the foundation of a strong community. It means ensuring our residents feel secure at home, in our public spaces and when emergencies occur.

Safety also includes emergency preparedness, prevention and recovery.

We also need to make sure people can move about safely, through planning and design.

A safe community is a healthy, thriving one.

Transparency & Accountability

Transparency & Accountability

Transparency & Accountability

Alison signing her oath of office during her inauguration.

I believe local government needs to be open, honest and accountable for the decisions made.  Transparency means we need to not only share the information but make it easy to access and understand.

As a councillor, I know trust is earned through actions. That's why I prioritize sharing updates on my work, answering questions from residents.

Clear communication is the cornerstone of public trust.

Collaboration

Transparency & Accountability

Public Engagement

Alison with Councillors Mike Hayes and Mike Manion.

The best outcomes for our communities come when we work together: residents, staff, council and regional partners.

Collaboration means listening, valuing diverse perspectives and finding common ground.

When every voice is heard, better decisions follow.

Public Engagement

Transparency & Accountability

Public Engagement

Alison speaking to members of the public.

A strong community is built when residents are actively engaged in shaping the decisions that affect their lives.

Public engagement means creating opportunities for meaningful input, sharing information in ways people can understand, and taking residents’ perspectives into account when making policy.

We have to go to the people, and find ways to engage with all groups in our community, not wait for them to come to us.

Environmental Stewardship

Environmental Stewardship

Environmental Stewardship

Alison helping to plant new trees in Hoffman Park with the Lowermainland Green Team on Earth Day.

We have a responsibility to protect our natural environment for future generations. Environmental stewardship means making smart, sustainable choices in how we plan, build, and grow. It’s about balancing development with the preservation of green spaces, reducing our environmental footprint, and preparing for the impacts of climate change.

A healthy environment supports a healthy community.

Inclusivity

Environmental Stewardship

Diversity is one of our greatest strengths.

True inclusion means creating an environment where everyone feels respected, represented, and empowered to contribute.

Everyone has the right to feel welcomed, valued and heard.

Innovation

Environmental Stewardship

Innovation

Alison and Mike Manion taking a self on a farm with a new GPS robotic weeder!

I believe innovation is essential to meet the needs of today while preparing for the challenges of tomorrow.

Innovation means embracing new ideas, technologies, and approaches to improve services, infrastructure, and quality of life.

We need to be proactive, find creative solutions, and to make our community more efficient, resilient, and responsive.
